The use of the Internet of Things (IoT) has had a significant impact on various fields, including
environmental monitoring and control systems and electronic devices. These applications include
sensors, actuators, televisions, lights, and surveillance cameras. The concept of a smart home is one
of the results of implementing IoT, where devices in the house are equipped with microcontrollers and
WiFi modules to connect to the Internet and interact with each other. One interesting example of IoT
application is in maintaining ornamental fish aquariums. Aquarium owners can monitor and control
various aspects such as temperature, lights and feeding automatically. To achieve this, a study has
been carried out with the aim of designing and implementing an IoT system to monitor temperature,
control lights automatically, and provide automatic feeding in an aquarium. The hardware used in this
system involves the NodeMCU ESP8266 as the main controller, a WiFi module to connect the system
to the Internet, a DS18B20 temperature sensor, a servo motor to provide automatic feed, and a relay
to turn on or turn off the equipment controlled by the system. As a user interface, Telegram bots are
used to provide equipment control commands and receive notifications from the system. The test results
show that the designed system can operate in accordance with the specified specifications. For
example, if the water temperature in the aquarium is outside the desired range (24°C to 32°C), the
system will automatically activate the fan or heater to adjust the water temperature as needed.
